I was just getting ready to jump in the shower (which I too failed to mention) as our Chorus had a 2 show gig last night to help raise funds for our Highland Ridge Chorale. The Chorale is a mixed voice chorus of residents of our gated golf 55+ community of 900. They put on an annual spaghetti dinner as a fund raiser and our chorus (of which 14 of us just happen to be residents of HR also) makes it a dinner show.
We had two sold out seating, with a total of 328 people have a good meal and 25 minute barbershop show.
This AM, I'm off to do a coffee promo with one of the two quartets I sing tenor in, for our annual show (2/25), at another RV park at 8:30.
Busy all this week, at 8:30-9.
I'll be back in touch with you ASAP.
Jim

Thanks for contacting me so quickly. I'm VP for chapter development for the Bozeman Chord Rustlers in Bozeman, Montana, an active chapter (either the most active or right up there among Montana's 7 chapters) with about 35 actually active singers. We will be joined this spring by 16 members of the Missoula chapter (i.e., dual members) (200 miles west of us) to compete at our division contest. Like perhaps 6 of our chapter members, I attended a Chuck Greene seminar about a year ago and still have the info on that, and like 2 other chapter officers I attended a division leadership academy 2 weekends ago that had 5 or so hours of chapter development information, including information on the Harold Hill program. I'm recommending to our chapter that we use parts of the Harold Hill program numbers 13 (social media, at least for advertizing our upcoming March 3 show), #10 I Sing, #12 Personal recruiter, #11 Radio (our M and P VP and his quartet will do at least 2 radio interviews Monday and Tuesday to plug our Singing Valentines and the March 3 show). #7 church letter and #9 former member letter.

I've been a barbershopper since 1981 and am a prior chapter president, prior district member at large on the Board of directors, and prior district YIH coordinator. Our Big Sky Youth Harmony Rendezvous, a 4 day Harmony explosion type camp that I was intstrumental in starting, will have its 10th annual BSYHR this June, with probably 70 youth participating.

Our chapter website is www.chordrustlers.com and out Rendezvous website is www.harmonyrendezvous.org

Regarding my professional background, I am a family practice physician, now semi-retired, just working a few days a month at a local urgent care facility. I retired from the USAF in 1988. My two children are both married, living away from Bozeman -- son age 34, daughter age 31.

Singcerely yours,
Frank L. Johnson, M.D

Dear Bari,
Thanks for calling twice. I'm sorry I missed your calls. The Chord Rustlers have done the following so far since we signed up with Harold Hill -- 1) had our annual show, with advertizements around the community, and spots on local radio and TV plus info about the chorus in the program 2) made up business cards -- all the members have them -- and all now have I SING buttons -- we'll give out the business cards as men ask about our buttons 3) I've made up a modification of the Chuck Greene letter for first time visitors with specific info about our chorus -- and give them out to the visitors 4) I follow up with a phone call to the visitors and our chorus director calls them using basically the Chuck Greene checklist.
Plans include writing to the local choir directors and to our former members.
We have planning meeting for the chorus scheduled for later this month and will decide whether or not to have an open house.
Thanks for your interest!

It sounds like you are doing well. I am here if you need anything. Ideas, suggestions, support.... you name it... I'll do my best to help.
I'll check in again later this month.
